State-owned railway freight company CFR Marfa has won a EUR 10 million bid to transport coal to the Hunedoara Energetic Complex. The other bidder competing against CFR Marfa was Grup Feroviar Român (GFR).
CFR Marfa has offered this kind of services to the energy producer in previous years too. The two companies, CFR and GFR are also competing against each other in a similar bid to transporting coal for Complexul Energetic Oltenia, a contract of around EUR 58 million. CFR Marfa is Romania’s largest railway freight carrier, followed by competitor GFR.
Romania’s CFR Marfa starts restructuring, to lay off 2,500 by end-July
