Romania’s railways operator CFR profit up by a third
Romania’s state railways company CFR registered a net profit of EUR 35.8 million, in the first half of this year, 29% higher compared to the same period of 2013.
The company’s revenues were down 10.6%, to EUR 233.4 million, but expenditures also decreased by 15.4%, to EUR 233 million.
Its commercial debt went down by 36%, and the company had no debt to the state budget. CFR manages a network of 20,000 kilometers of railways, the seventh largest in Europe.
