Romania's Competition Council to introduce tool for comparing fuel prices
Romania’s Competition Council wants to expand the price monitor at national level this year, and in parallel, to introduce a similar tool for comparing fuel prices, said yesterday the institution’s president Bogdan Chiritoiu.
The tool would allow consumers to compare prices on the fuel market, reports local Agepres.
The Competition Council has recently announced that it launched a sector investigation on the local fuel market as the pre-tax fuel prices in Romania have slightly exceeded the EU average in the last year. The institution wants to check how the prices were formed, said Chiritoiu.
At the end of November last year, the Competition Council launched the price monitor, a tool that displays the local retailers’ prices for various products and allows consumers to compare them and identify the stores with the lowest prices.
