Romania's Competition Council investigates big pharma groups
Romania’s Competition Council has initiated an investigation at Novartis Pharma Services Romania, the local subsidiary of the Swiss pharma group Novartis.
The investigation targets a possible abuse of dominant position by implementing a pilot project for direct distribution to certain pharmacies.
Novartis ranks second in Romania’s pharma sector, with sales of EUR 140 million in 2015 and a market share of 5.5%.
The Competition Council is also investigating British group GSK’s local subsidiary for a possible breach of the competition law.
The Competition Council published yesterday a report following a sectorial analysis of the pharma market.
