Romania's Court of Auditors finds damages of EUR 410 mln to state budget
Romania’s Court of Auditors identified damages of EUR 410 million to the budget in 2015, according to a report published yesterday.
Most of the damages were found at the budgets of local institutions, namely 47% of the total, reports local Mediafax. They related to breaching the law on budget expenditure or unlawful use of funds granted from the budget.
The state budget recorded 27.7% of the total estimated damages, related to the failure to comply with contractual provisions established by public contracts or irregularities on internal and external loans. The remaining damages were recorded at state-owned companies.
In total, the Court of Auditors found 7,440 irregularities related to the use of public funds.
