Romania's current account deficit at EUR 351 mln in January-May
The balance of payments current account posted a deficit of EUR 351 million in January-May this year, compared with a surplus of EUR 191 million registered in the same period the previous year, mainly due to the increase in income deficit, according to data from the Central Bank BNR.
The medium- and long-term external debt stood at EUR 76.11 billion at end-May, which was 80.9 percent of the total external debt, and was slightly down from the end of 2013. The short-term external debt totaled EUR 17.9 billion at the end of May, down 6.3 percent from end-2013.
