Romania’s ecosystems to be mapped by 2018
Romania will have a map of its ecosystems and the services they support by 2018.
The project to create this map will cost EUR 3.38 million, with 85% of the money (some EUR 2.9 million) coming from European Economic Area (EEA) grants.
The National Environment Protection Agency will implement the project by January next year. The whole mapping process should be due in 2018.
According to official data, 47% of Romania’s surface is covered by natural and semi-natural ecosystems.
