Romania's European Funds Minister becomes Finance Minister
The European Funds Minister Eugen Teodorovici will be appointed Finance Minister and will be sworn in on Monday, March 30, said Prime Minister Victor Ponta.
President Klaus Iohannis agreed with the PM’s proposal.
Former Finance Minister Darius Valcov resigned after the anticorruption prosecutors charged him with bribery and influence peddling.
Following his resignation, Ponta said that he needs to find a ‘kamikaze’ for the position of Finance Minister.
Eugen Orlando Teodorovici has been European Funds Minister since December 2012.
