Romania's Finance Ministry will evaluate about 1,200 state-owned companies for listing them.
It will set up a working group consisting of Ministry representatives and several business specialists, said Dragos Andrei, State Adviser within the Prime Minister’s Chancellery, cited by local Wall-street.ro. They will evaluate which company is eligible to be listed on the Bucharest Stock Exchange, or secondarily on an international bourse.
Misu Negritoiu, president of the Financial Supervisory Authority, said earlier this week that listing 15 companies on the stock exchange, either privatized or not, could bring revenues of over EUR 1 billion to the country’s Treasury.
