Romania’s Finance Ministry organizes the first fiscal receipts lottery on Easter
Romania’s Finance Ministry announced it would hold the first fiscal receipts lottery on Monday, April 13, which is the second day of Easter. The prizes will amount to RON 1 million (EUR 222,000), the Finance Ministry announced on Thursday.
This will be an occasional draw, as the regular monthly draws will only start in July, according to a Government decision draft, which is open to public debate.
“The primary goal of the project is to reduce tax evasion by encouraging voluntary compliance. We thus incentivise economic operators to behave correctly, and we aim to grow the consumers’ civic responsibility,” according to Finance Ministry representatives.
