Romania's Finance Ministry sells EUR 134 mln bonds at a yield of 1.9%
The Finance Ministry sold yesterday government bonds in local currency worth RON 600 million (EUR 134.5 million) due in April 2019.
The average yield was 1.9%, according to data from Romania’s National Bank.
The nine banks participating in the auction placed offers for EUR 211.5 million, 57% more than the amount borrowed by the state.
In 2016, Romania plans to attract EUR 10.7-11.2 billion by issuing bonds in the internal market.
The Finance Ministry wants to borrow EUR 830 million in March from local banks. It could also borrow another EUR 90.8 million through additional allocations.
