Romania's First House program reaches record number of requests per day
The First House lending program in Romania has reached a record number of requests, with more than 500 new applications submitted daily, according to the National Credit Guarantee Fund for Small and Medium Enterprises (FNGCIMM).
More than 200,000 Romanians have bought a house via this program since it was launched in 2009. The institution is currently reviewing over 7,000 applications.
The fund had to supplement the number of employees for all the analysis stages and extend work hours, including on Saturdays and Sundays.
The state has granted 203,783 guarantees through the National Guarantee Fund for the First House program, with a total value of RON 17.5 billion (EUR 3.8 billion) by the end of November 2016.
