The Generic Drug Manufacturers Association in Romania (APMGR) has asked the Health Ministry to recalculate the price of generic drugs.

The Association has also asked the Prime Minister to get involved as the situation is severe, especially for local producers of generic drugs.

Factories in Romania are likely to collapse if they are obliged to sell drugs below production cost.

Analysing the generic drugs against the innovative drugs is anticompetitive and acts as a barrier for generic drugs and the free competition on the drugs market, said Laurentiu Mihai, Executive Director APMGR.
