15 June 2015

Young Romanians Flavian Glont, Martin Fronescu and Cristian Leana have convinced the public and the jury that they deserve to win this year’s edition of Romania’s Got Talent. The show’s final was organized on Friday, June 12, and included 15 finalists.

The group, called SpeedCubing, went on stage and solved Rubik’s cubes, blindfolded. This representation, for which they have memorized no less than 4,000 algorithms, got them the big prize of EUR 120,000. View SpeedCubing’s representation here.

The three young Romanians participate in speedcubing competitions, for which they train 4-5 hours a day. Speedcubing is the activity of solving a variety of twisty puzzles, the most famous being the Rubik's Cube, as quickly as possible.

Romanian break-dancer Bogdan Bolohan won the second place, and children rock band The Beat came third.

Cosmin Cioca received a special prize of EUR 10,000 for originality, after combining classical music with beatbox.

Over 2.2 million Romanians watched the final of Romania’s Got Talent, broadcasted on June 12, between 20:30 and 01:20. The number of viewers reached its peak at 22:39 (the golden minute) when almost 4 million people watched the show.
