Romania's Government adopts national strategy on climate change
Romania’s Government will adopt next week the national strategy on climate changes for the 2016-2030 period.
The strategy will include measures to be taken in every economic sector, with deadlines and budget allocation, environment minister Cristiana Pasca-Palmer said on September 15. Romania will not limit itself to implementing the EU law in this sector, the minister added.
The action plan for climate change has been drafted together with the World Bank in the last three years, Pasca-Palmer explained.
In Romania, the temperatures recorded an annual average growth of 0.4 degrees Celsius. The country has experienced more frequent and intense rains, which led to intense flooding. The droughts have also worsened.
