Romania's Government pays EUR 12 mln to get every child to kindergarten

04 February 2016

The Romanian Government will finance the social program “Every Child in Kindergarten” with RON 55.5 million (EUR 12.2 million) this year.

The program offers vouchers of RON 50 (EUR 11.2) per month for Romanian children aged 3 to 6 who come from poor families. The social voucher should be used to buy food, clothes, toys or school supplies, products that would help these children go to kindergarten.

The incentive is granted to families with an income per family member of less than RON 284 (EUR 63) monthly. The voucher will be awarded, however, only if kids attend kindergarten.
