Romania's Government wants to ban timber exports for limited period
The Romanian Government plans to prohibit timber exports for a limited period, said Prime Minister Victor Ponta.
It has already prepared the procedure in a draft emergency ordinance. However, the draft got stuck at the Justice Ministry.
Ponta has asked Justice Ministry representatives to find a legal solution by next week. If not, they can search for new jobs, Ponta threatened, reports local Mediafax.
The Parliament supports the amendment to the Forestry Code, which the Government adopted, the Prime Minister said.
However, President Klaus Iohannis sent back to the Parliament the draft amendment to the Forestry Code to reexamine it. The Senate has re-adopted it in the same form, and the project has now entered the commissions within the Chamber of Deputies.
