Romania's Highways Company to pay extra EUR 26 mln to finish Bechtel’s work on Transylvania highway
Romania’s National Company for Highways (CNADNR) is currently looking for a constructor to finish the 52-kilometer highway section, between Campia Turzii and Gilau, part of the Transilvania highway, 97% of which was built by the North-American company Bechtel.
In order to have it finished, CNADNR is willing to pay up to EUR 25.9 million plus VTA. Contractors who are interested in this project can submit their offers by January 9. The completion time is 42 months from the date the contract will be signed. The first 42 kilometers of the Turda-Gilau section were opened on December 2009, and the other 10 km were opened a year later.
