Romania's Intelligence Service benefits from first budget amendment this year
The Finance Ministry has drafted the project of the first budget amendment of this year, which needs to be approved by the Government.
The project provides an increase of EUR 655 million in the total budget revenues and expenditures, with the largest part of the amount allocated to the Labor, Interior, Health, and Education Ministries. It also cuts money from the Transport Ministry.
The budget deficit target for the whole year remains at 2.8% of the GDP, according to the document.
The Labor Ministry gets another EUR 627 million to pay social assistance rights, child allowances, or allowances for the disabled. The Finance Ministry gets EUR 137 million, especially for the high interest the state needs to pay on its loans. The Interior Ministry gets EUR 40.7 million for organizing the parliamentary elections.
The budget of the two Parliament chambers will be reduced by almost EUR 1.77 million whereas the budget of the Romanian Intelligence Service will go up by EUR 8.4 million. The Foreign Intelligence Service will get an additional EUR 627,000, while the Telecommunications Special Service will get extra EUR 806,000.
