Romania's largest online retailer buys PC Garage
The largest Romanian online retailer eMAG has bought the IT&C online store PC Garage.
eMAG already signed the agreement with PC Garage’s shareholders earlier this month, and is now waiting for the Competition Council’s approval.
Romanian entrepreneur Marius Ghenea has been PC Garage’s majority shareholder. PC Garage will continue to operate under its brand and Traian Cristea will remain the company’s general manager.
“Considering the development of the gaming industry everywhere in the world and PC Garage’s good positioning in this area, we will invest in regional development and in increasing its range of products and services,” said Iulian Stanciu, eMAG CEO.
PC Garage posted a turnover of EUR 37 million last year, up by 30% compared to the previous year.
eMAG, which is controlled by South-African investment fund Naspers, had a turnover of EUR 353 million in 2015.
