Romania's Metrorex buys eight more trains from Spanish CAF
Bucharest metro operator Metrorex will purchase eight more trains from the Spanish company CAF, for EUR 47 million, money drawn from the European Investment Bank, reports local Mediafax.
The new trains are similar to the 16 sets bought from CAF under a contract worth EUR 97 million signed in 2011, according to the Spanish company. The first trains purchased from CAF were introduced into service in July.
CAF trains have six wagons, a length of 114 meters and the capacity to carry 1,200 passengers.
