Romania's Metrorex wants to buy new trains for EUR 350 mln
Bucharest metro operator Metrorex wants to buy 51 new trains for the fifth line Drumul Taberei-Eroilor. It’s the largest acquisition contract in recent years, with a maximum value of EUR 345 million, for a period of 7 years. The money comes from European funds, reports local Economica.net.
Metrorex’s latest acquisition included the purchase of 16 trains from Spanish company CAF. The CAF train has six cars, a length of 113.6 meters, a width of 3.2 meters, and can carry a total of 1,200 passengers. The maximum speed is 80 km per hour.
