Romania's Ministry of Finance borrows EUR 180 mln

The Ministry of Public Finance on Monday, February 16, borrowed RON 800 million (EUR 180 million) from commercial banks through an auction of three-year bonds at an average yield of 1.94%.

This went down over January when the Treasury lent to a yield of 2.07% for this type of bonds.

Nine banks subscribed offers worth EUR 219 million, reports local Economica.net.

The Ministry will host today, February 17, an additional session related to the bond auction on Monday, where it wants to borrow another EUR 23.6 million.

In February, the Finance Ministry has planned to borrow EUR 1.12 billion from commercial banks.
