The budget allocated by the Romanian Government to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MAE) in 2012 is “a decent budget for survival,” which the Ministry plans to spend on a center for Romanians living abroad, online libraries and an e-Visa service, according to the Foreign Minister, Teodor Baconschi (in picture).
“We will make a contact and support center for Romanians living abroad that will strengthen the current range of consular services. We also have projects for an e-Visa and online libraries - I want to digitize all diplomatic archives,” said Teodor Baconschi speaking on RFI.
Romania’s Foreign Ministry budget for 2012 is higher by almost a fifth compared to this year, but the Romanian Minister explained that the extra money comes from the necessary co-financing for a range of projects with European money.
