Romania's national car production drops 8%, Dacia produces more Dusters
Romania’s national car production dropped by 8.3% to 301,000 units, in the first ten months of this year, according to the Automotive Manufacturers and Importers Association – APIA.
Of the total number of cars manufactured in Romania during these months, Dacia produced 266,590 whereas Ford produced over 34,900.
The Dacia Duster was the most popular model, with over 158,000 units produced, up 11.9% compared to the first ten months of 2015. The second model in terms of production was Dacia Sandero, with over 42,900 cars, down 11.4% year-on-year.
Ford B-MAX ranked third, with almost 34,950 units, down 16.8% year-on-year, followed by the model Dacia Logan MCV, with some 33,500 cars, down 3.7% year-on-year. The model Dacia Logan saw about 32,100 new units in the first ten months of the year, down 48.4% year-on-year.
Dacia’s sales in the European union went up by 10% in the first ten months of this year, reaching 345,500 units.
