Romania's petrol imports fall in 2012
Romania imported petrol equivalent to 1.189 million tons of oil in the first five months of 2012. This represented a 26.2 percent fall on the same period in 2011, according to data from Romania's Statistics Institute (INS).
Internal production of natural gas in the first part of 2012 was 0.9 percent lower than in the same period last year.
The latest figures from oil company British Petroleum (BP) put Romania's oil reserves at 600 million barrels, or 100 million tons, and natural gas reserves at 100 billion cubic meters.
