Romania's Romtelecom returns to profit while revenues are down after nine months
Romanian telecom company Romtelecom, owned by Greek OTE, saw its revenues down after the first nine months of the year, but it managed to get back into profit. Romtelecom posted EUR 470 million in total revenues in the first three quarters of the year, after revenues of EUR 492 million in Q1 to Q3 2011.
Meanwhile, it posted a profit of EUR 46.8 million, after a loss of EUR 27.2 million during the first nine months of 2011.
Internet and TV continue to be the core of Romtelecom's offers, with internet service clients up by 6.7 percent during the third quarter, compared to the same period of 2011. Meanwhile, TV service clients went up by 1.9 percent, according to the company.
The OTE group also includes Cosmote mobile services supplier, as well as retailer Germanos in Romania.
