The Romanian State Secretary Silviu Bian, 51, was arrested for 29 days on bribery charges, according to the decision taken by the Bucharest Court. Silviu Bian was also dismissed from the position of president of the National Agency for Employment (ANOFM), position he held since January 2009.

Silviu Bian allegedly received in September this year, as president of the National Agency of Employment, EUR 22,000 and RON 19,000 (about EUR 4,400) from the officials of the ANOFM’s county structures. Also, in October, he received another RON 82,000 (about EUR 19,000) from the same officials, according to the National Anticorruption Agency (DNA).

Silviu Bian also held the position of ANOFM president from 2005 to 2007.
