Romania's Tax Authority warns taxpayers about possible fraud attempt
Romania’s Tax Authority ANAF has issued a warning about a fraud attempt, after receiving several complaints from taxpayers. They have been requested confidential information through a telephone survey attributed to the tax agency.
ANAF said that it is currently conducting only one telephone survey, which doesn’t include questions about taxpayers’ bank accounts or credit cards. Its survey tries to evaluate the results and effects of the tax agency’s ongoing media campaign. The survey’s questions that relate to a company’s activity refer only to things such as the number of employees, turnover, founding year, and identification number.
ANAF warns taxpayers to be vigilant if they are requested confidential information.
