Romania's trade deficit down 3.5% year-on-year in July

Romania's trade deficit decreased by 3.5 percent in July compared to the same month in 2010, to EUR 636.4 million (RON 2.6 billion), according to the National Statistics Institute (INS).

Expressed in EUR, Romania's exports grew by 11.5 percent in July compared to the same month in 2010, to EUR 3.7 billion, while imports have had an advance of 9.1 percent to EUR 4.4 billion. Romania has delivered in the EU member states goods worth EUR 2.58 billion, with 5.8 percent more than in July, 2010. Exports to countries outside the EU increased by 26.1 percent to EUR 1.20 billion.

In the first seven month of this year, Romania’s trade deficit dropped by 5.4 percent to EUR 5.2 billion.

Romania imported with 19 percent more in January-July than in the same period of 2010, and exported with 25.5 more.
