Romania's Turceni energy complex to spend EUR 350 mln to meet European environmental standards
The Romanian energy complex Turceni will invest almost EUR 350 million until 2013 in order to meet European environmental standards. “We must pursue the environmental investments in order to comply with European standards. We will complete the environmental investments by 2013, which will amount to about EUR 350 million”, said Octavian Graure, CEO of the company.
These environmental investments will increase the technological consumption, which could increase energy prices.
The Turceni Energy Complex, founded in 2003, is the largest coal-based thermal power plant in Romania and covers 12.5 percent of the energy in the system. The company had last year a net profit of almost EUR 1 million.
