Romania's most underdeveloped areas to see highest growth rates in 2016
Calarasi, Braila, and Ialomita counties, which are among the most underdeveloped areas in Romania, will record the highest economic growth rates this year, of up to 4.9%.
By comparison, Bucharest and Cluj, which are the most developed areas in Romania, could see the lowest increases in the GDP compared to 2015, according to the National Prognosis Commission (CNP).
Romania’s GDP will record an economic increase of 4.2% this year, 4.3% in 2017, and 4.5% in 2018, according to CNP’s estimates.
The prognosis for this year is identical with the one of the European Commission, but the National Prognosis Commission’s estimates for next year are more optimistic. The EC expects an increase of 3.7% in Romania in 2017.
