Romania imported gas worth some USD 8.4 billion from 2004 to 2010, according to Romanian state-owned company Romgaz. “We have to accept that the gas import will be a short term issue, until 2020,'" said Dumitru Chisalita, commercial director of Romgaz Medias.

The price of gas imported by Romania from Russia will reach USD 545 per one thousand cubical meters in October, according to Kroat Reder, member of Petrom executive board. Romania's Energy Regulation Authority approved an increase in final gas prices to consumers at the end of June this year.
