Telecom company Romtelecom has launched online video portal Dolcetv – www.dolcetv.ro- which will broadcast movies, live and recorded TV shows, as well as sports video content. The Dolce TV Online platforms currently features 200 movie titles, some of which available for free, while others can be paid per view at prices ranging between EUR 1.1 and EUR 1.9.

Payments can be made via text message, by card or through PayPal. The TV section currently includes recorded shows of over 15 TV stations, as well as live web TV, available for free.  The portal also includes a soap opera – La Vida Entera- available exclusively online in Romania. The website is currently in its Beta version and will be improved based on user feedback, according to the company.

Telecom company Romtelecom posted a profit after taxes of EUR 154.7 million last year, down 38.7 percent on 2009, due to difficult market conditions. The company’s revenues were also down 8.4 percent, to EUR 716 million. The company has recently bought Boom TV digital TV platform in Romania.
