A safe containing RON 200,000 (EUR 45,000) in cash was stolen on the night of September 3/4 from a bank agency belonging to Banca Transilvania, the third largest bank in Romania by assets. The agency is located in Brasov.

The alarm was triggered and the representatives of the security company which guards the bank promptly got to the site only to find out that the safe was gone. Judiciary authorities have started an investigation to find the persons responsible for the robbery.

The money in the safe were insured so there’s no risk of loss for the bank or its clients, Banca Transilvania announced.
