Sales of cars and motorbikes in Romania fall ten months into 2012
Sales turnovers of cars and motorbikes in Romania fell in the first ten months of 2012 on the same period last year, according to figures from the National Statistics Office (INS). Turnover was down by 4.5 percent using raw figures and by 4.2 percent using seasonally adjusted results.
Seasonally adjusted sales figures for October this year against the previous month were also down, by 3.4 percent, despite a 12.2 percent increase using gross results. Results for October 2012 against the same month last were also down, by 6.6 percent using raw figures and by 11.6 percent using seasonally adjusted results.
The figures for servicing of vehicles were a more mixed bag. For the first ten months of 2012 against the same period last year both the raw and seasonally adjusted figures were down by 1.2 percent. Meanwhile, the results for October this year against the previous month were up by 2.9 and 2.7 percent for the raw and seasonally adjusted figures respectively. October 2012 against October 2011 also showed increases, by 4.7 percent using raw figures and by 2.9 percent using seasonally adjusted results.
