Samsung Romania targets half of portable hard disk market
Samsung Romania will focus in the next period on IT solutions and especially on portable solid-state drives (PSSD).
The local solid-state drive market is estimated at EUR 20 million in Romania, and Samsung targets a 50% market share, said Sorin Manea, head of the Enterprise Division at Samsung Romania. Meanwhile, the global market is estimated at EUR 4 billion.
The company recently launched in Romania the T1 model, which is the size of a credit card and weighs 26 grams, but can store information of up to 1TB. The reading and writing speed goes up to 450 MB/s.
The T1 portable hard disk operates both with Windows and Mac computers, and comes with 250 GB, 500GB or 1 TB storage capacities. Prices start from RON 700 (EUR 157) for the 250 GB version.
