01 August 2016

The seventh edition of Oscar Lights Vama (Vama Sub Lumini de Oscar), the biggest international visual arts festival in Romania, will be organized in Vama Veche seaside resort between August 19 and August 28.

The event’s program will include free lectures, seminars and workshops for enthusiasts of film, photography, painting, sculpture, theater and music, as well as exhibitions, movie screenings, and outdoor concerts.

In the photography section, the organizers have prepared a series of workshops that combine theory and practice. This year’s themes are street fashion, wedding photography, staged photography, nude photo, film photo, image manipulation in Photoshop, photojournalism, and portrait photo.

The film section will include courses and practical workshops in areas such as video production, directing, lighting, sound, and editing. The participants will have to do a documentary under the coordination of industry professionals. Meanwhile, the students from the painting and sculpture section will take part in theory and practical classes coordinated by Romanian painter and sculptor Daniel Prapone.

The theater section, present for the first time in the festival’s program, will be about full-size puppet theater. Lightwave Theatre Company will coordinate the courses, the ultimate goal being to produce a complete play.
