The second bridge of the Mihai Bravu flyover in Bucharest should be ready by the end of this year, said Bucharest mayor Sorin Oprescu in a press conference last weekend.

Another work in progress, the underground passage at the Free Press Square (Piata Presei Libere) is now at the stage of moving various networks, such as water, gas, electricity, expanding the street and creating the passage’s walls. This passage should be ready within nine months.

For another repair project, the modernization of the Calea Victoriei, work is 60 percent done for the sidewalks, and 25 percent done for the road. The boulevard’s modernization should be done by December 2014, but the mayor promised an earlier deadline: September 15.
