A segment of 28 kilometers of Nadlac-Arad highway, namely the 22 kilometers of the first lot and 6 kilometers of the second lot, was opened to traffic at the end of last week. Until the site is completely closed, the maximum speed on this segment is 100 km per hour, reports local Mediafax.

Starting Friday evening, December 19, drivers can circulate on the high-speed road between Nadlac and Pecica.  The highway ends at the border and it will be linked with the highway in Hungary in June 2015, as this road is still under construction. At Pecica, drivers can take the highway from the national road DN7 using the roundabout there.

The entire second lot of the Nadlac-Arad highway is to be completed by end-June 2015.

This is the second highway segment which was inaugurated in 2014 in Romania. The first one was a 22-kilometer segment between Sibiu and Orastie, which was inaugurated in mid-November.
