Famous Canadian circus company Cirque du Soleil will return to Romania this May, this time with its show Varekai.

Although six performances were announced at first, a seventh one was recently added at the public’s request, the organizers announced. This representation will also take place at Romexpo in Bucharest, on May 6, starting 16:30.

Tickets cost between RON 127 (EUR 28) and RON 550 (some EUR 122) and can be purchased online at Eventim.ro and Cirquedusoleil.com/varekai. According to the organizers, the best seats are sold exclusively in the Orange shop in Baneasa Shopping City in Northern Bucharest.

Moreover, Baneasa Shopping City will also host a fragment of Varekai show on May 2, this being a first for a commercial center in Romania. The initiative is part of a series of events marking the shopping center’s ninth anniversary.

Directed by Dominic Champagne, Varekai premiered in Montreal in 2012. The show’s title means “wherever” is the Romani language, the production being an “acrobatic tribute to the nomadic soul”. Find out more about the show here.
