Shores of Bucharest’s Herăstrău Lake to undergo first rehabilitation works in almost 60 years
Bucharest deputy mayor Horia Tomescu recently announced that a contract has been signed for the largest investment of the Bucharest Lakes, Parks, and Recreation Administration, namely the rehabilitation of the shores of Herăstrău Lake.
"After 57 years, the shores of Herăstrău Lake will be rehabilitated. Today, the contract was signed for the largest investment of the Bucharest Lakes, Parks, and Recreation Administration: Capital Repairs for the defense of the Herăstrău Lake shores, including the defense of the Herăstrău Lake islands, which encompasses design services and execution of works," wrote Horia Tomescu on Facebook, cited by Spotmedia.
The deputy mayor also said that following an open bidding procedure, SC Dimar SRL was designated as the winner with a contract value of RON 45.68 mln without VAT. The contract duration is 12 months.
"The purpose of the rehabilitation and consolidation of the shores of Herăstrău Lake is to ensure the safety of park visitors and the proper functioning of the entire hydro-technical complex of the Colentina River, of which Herăstrău Lake is an integral part," Tomescu further explained.
Herăstrău Lake, located in the north part of Bucharest, is one of the largest lakes in the capital city. It is part of the King Mihai I Park, formerly known as the Herăstrău Park.
