Siemens opens new R&D center in Romania, with EUR 4.5 mln investment

19 August 2014

Siemens expands its presence in the IT field in Romania by opening a new R&D center in Cluj, under the brand of its subsidiary Evosoft. The company plans to hire over 200 people by 2017, who will work on global projects of software and product development for all Siemens divisions.

Opening the new location required an investment of over EUR 4.5 million, which includes the rent costs for the next five years, planning costs, and the initial investment in infrastructure. However, it doesn’t cover the expenses with future employees.

The center is located in Liberty Technology Park Cluj, occupying entirely the park’s B Building.
