Star Storage makes EUR 20 mln turnover on data security services market, wants 25% growth

15 February 2011

Information management and data security provider Star Storage grew its sales by 50 percent in Romania last year compared to 2009, to EUR 20 million, the company has announced. It plans to further grow its turnover by 25 percent this year.

The growth was mainly triggered by the investments carried on by the company. The divisions with the biggest volume of increase were the Infrastructure, Data Center Outsourcing and Output Management Outsourcing. The company invested around EUR 2 million in the latter two divisions.

In terms of customers, most of the revenues were brought by private clients – 70 percent, the rest coming from public institutions.

“For us, the public sector remains a disappointment because of the small number of projects and of the lack of consistency in executing a coherent, national strategy on IT&C,” said Catalin Paunescu, general manager of Star Storage.

2010 was the most difficult year on the Romanian market for Star Storage, which has been working on this market for the last 10 years, according to Paunescu.
