State budget revenues, up 4% in Romania in 2015
Romania’s state budget recorded revenues of EUR 51.5 billion last year, up by 4% compared to 2014.
The state’s expenses rose by 8% to EUR 53.7 billion. The budget deficit thus amounted to EUR 2.2 billion, namely 1.47% of the GDP. It stayed within the target of 1.85% of the GDP.
Compared to the previous year, the deficit dropped from 1.72% of GDP to 1.47%. In nominal terms, it decreased by EUR 242 million.
The revenues of the budget totaled 33.1% of the GDP in 2015. The revenues from the tax on profit rose by 13% whereas those from the income tax went up by 12.4%. The VAT revenues increased by 12.3%.
