State railway company increases Q1 loss
State railway company CFR Calatori (Passengers) increased its losses by 27.3 percent in the first quarter of the year in 2010, to around EUR 17.3 million. Its turnover was 17 percent lower, to around EUR 115 million. The main causes were the decrease in the passenger traffic and the drop in the compensation alloted during the period.
Meanwhile, CFR Infrastructura (Infrastructure) and CFR Marfa (Freight) have managed to reduce their loss in the first quarter of the year. CFR Infrastructura posted a EUR 32.6 million loss in Q1, down 22 percent on the loss in the similar quarter of 2009, while CFR Marfa, EUR 15.2 million, down 50 percent.
