Both Romania and Europe record a huge fraud on the Value Added Tax (VAT), and the causes must be eliminated, said yesterday the Secretary of State in the Ministry of Finance Gabriel Biris.

“Has the EU legislation on VAT has become an invitation to fraud?” asked Biris, reports local Agerpres.

“We don’t do anything to tax the amounts that aren’t declared.”

The Government needs to come up with solutions to remove causes, not only to treat the effects of fraud, he added.
