Stock market capitalization, up by 6% in Romania
The total capitalization of the Bucharest Stock Exchange (BVB) reached EUR 29.2 billion at the end of last year, down 2.89% year-on-year.
Local companies’ market capitalization share in the GDP amounted to 12.2%, a similar level to 2013, according to the Financial Supervisory Authority (ASF).
In 2014, the total value of the bourse transactions reached EUR 3.1 million, up 6.56% over 2013.
Last year, the local economy recorded a 2.9% growth. It stayed in the top seven European countries in terms of the GDP dynamics, according to ASF.
The favorable macroeconomic context had a positive influence on Romania’s capital market.
