06 June 2011

The Street Delivery festival, a project started by the Carturesti bookshop, will be held in Bucharest between June 10 and June 12 and in Timisoara from June 11 to June 12 starting 12:00 hours. In the capital city Bucharest, the festival will bring graffiti, beat boxing, public lectures, concerts and many other things on Arthur Verona St., while in Timisoara the festival will be held on Florimund de Mercy St.

The Romanian Cultural Institute will also be present at the festival with a stand and a series of events like multimedia exhibitions, film screenings, and a multicultural picnic. More about the schedule of the Romanian Cultural Institute at the festival: www.icr.ro/streetdelivery2011 (in Romanian).

Street Delivery brings architecture, music, street art, performance, exhibitions, films and workshops into the street. During the two days of festival, the two streets will be closed for cars and opened only for pedestrians.

The event was first organized in 2006 by the Order of Architects in Romania and the Carturesti bookshop with the title "Art Delivery Arthur Verona Street is your street!". The event took the idea to convert the urban landscape in a cultural landscape.
