Automotive Wiring System, part of Sumitomo, will open the new extension to its existing production unit in Romania - the car wiring factory in Caransebes - on Thursday (July 26 ). Lucian Isar, the ministry delegate for the business community, will attend the opening of the new production hall.

The production unit, located in Buchin, Caransebes county, is set to create 1,500 jobs. Sumitomo representatives met local specialists earlier in March before making a decision on expanding the existing production unit, the two production halls in Caransebes.

The new facilities will manufacture wiring for Skoda, while the existing two halls produce wiring for Volkswagen.
